At UFC 194, which fighter defeated José Aldo to win the UFC featherweight championship?

The story behind the answer

At UFC 194, Conor McGregor defeated José Aldo to win the UFC featherweight championship.

The title fight took place in Las Vegas on December 12, 2015. Aldo had held the UFC featherweight championship since the division’s introduction in 2010 and had not lost a professional fight in more than a decade before meeting McGregor.

McGregor won by knockout just 13 seconds into the first round. He countered Aldo with a left hand as Aldo rushed forward, producing the shortest fight in UFC championship-bout history at that time.

This result is sometimes confused with McGregor’s later lightweight championship victory at UFC 205. At UFC 194, he won only the featherweight belt. His victory over Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 made him the first UFC fighter to hold two titles simultaneously.
