At the 63rd Grammy Awards, Taylor Swift performed “august” with the Evermore song “Willow.”
Swift presented a medley of “Cardigan,” “august,” and “Willow” at the ceremony on March 14, 2021. The first two songs came from Folklore, while “Willow” came from Evermore, the companion album Swift released in December 2020.
The performance used a cottage-like setting and woodland imagery that matched the Folklore aesthetic. Swift began with “Cardigan,” moved into “august” while playing guitar inside the cottage, and finished with “Willow” outside it.
The performance also brought together Swift and Folklore producers Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner onstage. It was notable as the first time the three performed together, linking the studio collaborators with the fictional, atmospheric world of the albums.
