“Cardigan” opened Taylor Swift’s 2021 Grammys medley that included “august.”
At the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards on March 14, 2021, Swift performed “Cardigan,” “august,” and “Willow” as one connected medley. She began with “Cardigan,” then performed “august” inside a cottage, and finished with “Willow.”
The performance featured Folklore producers Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner. It marked the first time the three performed together, giving the medley a strong connection to the album’s collaborative production history.
The Grammy performance is separate from the song’s later Eras Tour appearances. On the Eras Tour, “august” was part of the Folklore section, but that set-list placement was not the same as the 2021 awards-show medley.
