Taylor Swift performed “willow” immediately after “august” at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.
Swift presented a medley of “cardigan,” “august,” and “willow” during the ceremony on March 14, 2021. She began with “cardigan,” performed “august” inside a cottage-like set, and then moved outside for “willow.”
The performance joined material from two sister albums. “cardigan” and “august” are from Folklore, while “willow” opens Evermore, Swift’s second surprise album of 2020. Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner accompanied Swift, marking the first time the three performed together.
A frequent mix-up is assuming the medley ended with “august” because that song is the section most associated with the annual August trend. In the Grammy performance order, however, “willow” followed it and completed the medley.
