Valentino made Zendaya’s bright yellow gown for the 2021 Academy Awards.
Zendaya wore a flowing, fluorescent-yellow Valentino Haute Couture gown designed by Pierpaolo Piccioli. The dress featured a dramatic cutout at the midriff and a long, lightweight train that emphasized movement on the red carpet.
The look was especially notable because Zendaya attended the ceremony as a presenter during the COVID-19 era, when the event was held at Los Angeles Union Station rather than using only the Dolby Theatre. Her stylist Law Roach helped shape the overall appearance.
The dress is sometimes confused with Zendaya’s other memorable Valentino appearances, including her 2022 Oscars look. The 2021 gown, however, was the vivid yellow Haute Couture design, while the later outfit was a white crop top paired with a silver skirt from Valentino.
