At the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, what award did Beyoncé receive for her career achievements?

At the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, Beyoncé received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

The Video Vanguard Award is one of MTV's highest honors. It recognizes major contributions to music videos and popular culture, and it is named after Michael Jackson, whose visual work strongly influenced the form.

Beyoncé accepted the award at the ceremony held on August 24, 2014, at The Forum in Inglewood, California. She also performed a medley from her self-titled album during the show.

The honor is sometimes confused with MTV's competitive video categories, such as Video of the Year. Unlike those annual genre or performance awards, the Vanguard is primarily a career-recognition prize. Beyoncé had already won numerous MTV awards before receiving it, both as a solo artist and as a member of Destiny's Child.
