After season five, CSI episodes were primarily filmed at which studio?
Answer
Universal Studios Hollywood
Answer
Universal Studios Hollywood
After season five, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation episodes were primarily filmed at Universal Studios Hollywood in Universal City, California. The move gave the long-running production a more established studio base while preserving the visual identity of its fictional Las Vegas crime lab.
The series had begun filming at Rye Canyon, a Lockheed Martin corporate campus in Santa Clarita, and later shifted to nearby Santa Clarita Studios. Santa Clarita’s terrain remained useful for outdoor scenes because it could resemble the dry outskirts of Las Vegas. Universal Studios then became the principal production location after the fifth season, though CSI continued to use Santa Clarita and other California locations for selected exterior work.
Another common misconception is that the show was mainly filmed in Las Vegas itself. The production did capture some Las Vegas material, including street exteriors and selected scenes, but California supplied most of the regular filming infrastructure. Universal Studios Hollywood therefore describes the show’s primary later studio home, not every location seen on screen.
