According to Exodus 24, seventy elders went up Mount Sinai with Moses.

The passage describes Moses receiving instructions to approach the mountain with Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of Israel’s elders. Moses alone was told to come nearer to the Lord, while the larger group remained at a distance during the covenant ceremony.

These elders represented Israel’s leadership at a pivotal moment after the escape from Egypt. Exodus presents the scene shortly after the covenant laws are read and accepted by the people, before Moses ascends farther up the mountain to receive additional instructions.
