Who wrote the Sherlock episode The Great Game?

Mark Gatiss wrote the Sherlock episode “The Great Game.”

“The Great Game” is the third and final episode of Sherlock’s first series, broadcast on BBC One and BBC HD on 8 August 2010. Gatiss also played Mycroft Holmes, Sherlock’s older brother, in the series, making the episode notable both behind and in front of the camera.

The episode follows Sherlock and John as they tackle several apparently unrelated cases delivered by a mysterious bomber. Its major dramatic development is the introduction of Jim Moriarty, played by Andrew Scott, as Sherlock’s principal criminal adversary. The story ends on a cliffhanger involving Sherlock, Moriarty and a bomb attached to John.
