Who wrote the Pokémon Adventures manga series?
Answer
Hidenori Kusaka
Answer
Hidenori Kusaka
Hidenori Kusaka wrote the Pokémon Adventures manga series.
Known in Japan as Pocket Monsters Special, Pokémon Adventures began serialization in March 1997. Its story arcs are based on Pokémon video-game generations, but its characters and plotlines differ substantially from those of the television anime.
The first arc follows Red, Blue, and Green as they travel through the Kanto region, collect Gym Badges, and confront Team Rocket. Later arcs adapt settings and ideas from games such as Gold and Silver, Ruby and Sapphire, Diamond and Pearl, and Scarlet and Violet.
Mato illustrated the first nine volumes. When Mato became unable to continue, Satoshi Yamamoto became the principal illustrator from the tenth volume onward. That change sometimes causes readers to mistake Yamamoto for the series writer, but Kusaka remained responsible for the writing. The manga is published by Shogakukan and licensed in English by Viz Media.
