Who wrote 'The Jungle Book'?
Answer
Rudyard Kipling
Answer
Rudyard Kipling
The author of The Jungle Book is Rudyard Kipling.
The Jungle Book is an 1894 collection of stories by the English author Rudyard Kipling. Its best-known stories follow Mowgli, a human child raised by wolves in an Indian jungle, and his encounters with characters such as Baloo the bear, Bagheera the panther, and Shere Khan the tiger. The collection also includes stories unrelated to Mowgli, including The White Seal and Rikki-Tikki-Tavi.
Kipling drew on his childhood in India and on traditions associated with Indian fables, including the Panchatantra and Jataka tales. The original magazine publications appeared in 1893 and 1894, and early editions included illustrations by his father, John Lockwood Kipling, as well as other artists.
The Jungle Book is often treated as a single continuous novel, but it is actually a collection of linked and separate tales. It is also frequently confused with Disney's animated adaptations, which reshape characters, plots, and tone. The Second Jungle Book followed in 1895 and contained additional Mowgli stories.
