Answer
Dr. Seuss
Dr. Seuss wrote 'Green Eggs and Ham'.
Dr. Seuss was the pen name of Theodor Seuss Geisel, the American author and illustrator who created the book. 'Green Eggs and Ham' was published by Random House's Beginner Books imprint on August 12, 1960. Its simple, rhythmic story follows Sam-I-am, who repeatedly urges an unnamed character to try the unusual meal until he finally agrees and discovers that he likes it.
The book originated with a challenge from Geisel's editor, Bennett Cerf, who bet him $50 that he could not write an engaging children's book using only 50 different words. Geisel accepted and used charts and checklists to track his vocabulary. The result became one of his best-known works.
Readers sometimes confuse the author with Sam-I-am, the character who makes the repeated offers, or with the illustrator of another children's classic. In this case, Geisel both wrote and illustrated the original book under his famous pen name.
