Answer
Jun Mochizuki
Answer
Jun Mochizuki
Jun Mochizuki wrote and illustrated the manga series Pandora Hearts.
Pandora Hearts is a Japanese fantasy manga that ran in Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Fantasy magazine from 2006 to 2015. Its story follows Oz Vessalius, a noble teenager whose coming-of-age ceremony is interrupted when he is condemned to the Abyss. The series combines mystery, supernatural contracts, and references to Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
The Pandora in the title is the Pandora organization, a group connected with investigating the Abyss and the dangerous entities known as Chains. The manga therefore uses “Pandora” as part of a broader fantasy mythology rather than retelling Hesiod’s story directly.
Mochizuki handled both the writing and the artwork. The series was collected in 24 tankōbon volumes and received a 25-episode anime adaptation in 2009. Its title can cause confusion with other manga and anime works featuring Pandora, but Pandora Hearts is specifically the series created by Mochizuki.
