Who won the men's singles title at Wimbledon in 2024?

The story behind the answer

Carlos Alcaraz won the men’s singles title at Wimbledon in 2024. He defeated Novak Djokovic in the final on Centre Court, winning 6–2, 6–2, 7–6(7–4) on 14 July 2024.

The victory made Alcaraz the ninth man in the Open Era to successfully defend the Wimbledon singles championship. It was also his fourth Grand Slam title, following his 2022 US Open win, his 2023 Wimbledon triumph and his 2024 French Open victory.

The final was a rematch of the 2023 Wimbledon final, which Alcaraz had also won against Djokovic. Djokovic entered the 2024 match after knee surgery and was seeking an eighth Wimbledon title, which would have equalled Roger Federer’s record in the Open Era.

A common mix-up is Jannik Sinner, who was the world No. 1 during the tournament, and Daniil Medvedev, whom Alcaraz defeated in the semifinal. Neither won the championship.
