Who won the inaugural Olympic women's monobob gold medal in 2022?

Kaillie Humphries won the inaugural Olympic women’s monobob gold medal at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

The women’s monobob was a new Olympic event in Beijing, with each athlete piloting a one-person bobsleigh. Humphries, representing the United States, won all three of the first three runs and finished the four-run competition in 4:19.27.

Elana Meyers Taylor, also competing for the United States, won silver, while Canada’s Christine de Bruin took bronze. Laura Nolte finished fourth. The event was held at the Xiaohaituo Bobsleigh and Luge Track on February 13 and 14, 2022.

Humphries was already a celebrated champion. She had won two-woman bobsleigh gold for Canada at the 2010 and 2014 Olympics, then earned bronze in 2018. Her 2022 victory was therefore both a new-event milestone and her third Olympic gold medal, achieved after changing national representation.
