Who won the 2015 US Open women's singles final against Roberta Vinci?

Flavia Pennetta won the 2015 US Open women’s singles final against Roberta Vinci. Pennetta prevailed 7–6, 6–2 in an all-Italian championship match at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

The title was Pennetta’s first and only major singles championship. She became the first woman to win her maiden major singles title after turning 30, a notable achievement in an era when many champions broke through much earlier. The 2015 tournament was also her 49th major main-draw appearance, then a record for a woman reaching her first major final.

Vinci’s appearance made the final historic too: she was unseeded and had just defeated three-time defending champion Serena Williams in the semifinals, ending Williams’s bid for a calendar-year Grand Slam. The final was the first major women’s singles championship match between two Italian players. Pennetta announced her retirement immediately after the ceremony and ended her career later that season.
