Who won bronze behind Phelps in the 2012 Olympic 200 m medley?

The story behind the answer

László Cseh won bronze behind Michael Phelps in the 2012 Olympic men's 200 metre individual medley. Cseh finished in 1:56.22 at the London Aquatics Centre, placing behind Phelps and fellow American Ryan Lochte.

Phelps won the final in 1:54.27, while Lochte took silver in 1:54.90. The victory gave Phelps his third consecutive Olympic title in the 200 metre individual medley, making him the first male swimmer to win the same individual Olympic event three times. It also delivered his 20th Olympic medal and 16th gold.

Cseh's bronze was especially notable because he had already won silver behind Phelps in the same event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The 2012 final preserved that familiar rivalry, with Cseh again finishing third. Thiago Pereira was fourth, while Kosuke Hagino finished fifth; their presence in the results can make the bronze medal easy to misremember.
