Nesta Carter won bronze behind Usain Bolt and Justin Gatlin in the 2013 World Championships 100-metre final.

The final took place at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium on 11 August 2013 in rainy conditions. Bolt won in 9.77 seconds, with Gatlin second in 9.85 and Carter third in 9.95. Carter’s time was a season best and placed him ahead of the other five finalists, including Jamaican teammate Kemar Bailey-Cole and Nickel Ashmeade.

Carter had qualified for the final by running 9.97 in the semifinals. He was one of four Jamaicans in the championship field, but only Carter, Bolt and Bailey-Cole reached the final.
