Who was the wife of Jacob who bore Joseph and Benjamin?

Rachel was Jacob's wife who bore Joseph and Benjamin.

Rachel was the younger daughter of Laban and the woman Jacob loved. Jacob agreed to work seven years for Laban to marry her, but Laban substituted Rachel's older sister Leah at the wedding. Jacob then worked an additional seven years and eventually married Rachel as well.

Rachel initially struggled with infertility, while Leah had several children. Genesis later records Rachel's son Joseph, who became a powerful official in Egypt and played a central role in preserving Jacob's family during famine. Rachel's second son was Benjamin, born while the family was traveling back to Canaan.

Rachel died during Benjamin's difficult birth and was buried near Ephrath, identified with Bethlehem. Jacob had children by Leah, Rachel, and their servants Bilhah and Zilpah. That complicated family structure explains why Leah and the two servants can also appear among the mothers of Jacob's sons, but only Rachel bore Joseph and Benjamin.
