Who was the showrunner of Brooklyn Nine-Nine?
Answer
Dan Goor
Answer
Dan Goor
Dan Goor was the showrunner of Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Goor oversaw the series across its eight-season run and served as an executive producer as well as a writer and director on selected episodes. He co-created the sitcom with Michael Schur, a fellow Parks and Recreation writer and producer, but Goor was the person most commonly identified as Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s showrunner.
The partnership grew out of their work on Parks and Recreation. The two developed Brooklyn Nine-Nine around a talented but immature New York police detective and the colleagues who gradually became his family. That premise became the workplace comedy starring Andy Samberg as Jake Peralta and Andre Braugher as Captain Raymond Holt.
Michael Schur’s role can create confusion because he was a co-creator and executive producer, while David Miner was also a prominent executive producer. Neither changes the standard answer to this question: Dan Goor ran the show. Goor even appeared briefly as “Janitor Dan,” a recurring behind-the-scenes joke in the series’ closing credits and final season.
