Who was the only Heisman Trophy winner on the Raiders' roster in 2013?

The story behind the answer

Charles Woodson was the only Heisman Trophy winner on the Oakland Raiders’ roster in 2013. He won the 1997 Heisman Trophy as a Michigan junior, becoming the first primarily defensive player to receive the award.

The Raiders selected Woodson fourth overall in the 1998 NFL Draft. After seven seasons with Green Bay, where he won Super Bowl XLV, he returned to Oakland in May 2013. At age 36, Woodson started all 16 games at free safety and recorded 97 tackles, two sacks, and one interception during the season.

A common mix-up is Marcus Allen, another Heisman winner strongly associated with the Raiders. Allen won the 1981 Heisman and became a Raiders legend, but he had left the team decades before 2013. Tim Brown, also a former Heisman winner and Raiders star, was likewise no longer on the roster. Woodson was therefore the sole Heisman alumnus on that year’s team.
