Who was the MVP of the 1993 World Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Toronto Blue Jays?

The story behind the answer

Paul Molitor was the MVP of the 1993 World Series between the Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies. The Blue Jays won the Series four games to two, securing their second consecutive championship.

Molitor, Toronto’s designated hitter and a future Hall of Famer, produced one of the greatest World Series performances of his career. He batted .500, going 12-for-24, and recorded two doubles, two triples, two home runs, and eight runs batted in across the six-game Series.

The award is sometimes confused with the accomplishments of Joe Carter, whose three-run, ninth-inning home run ended Game 6 and clinched the championship for Toronto. Carter delivered the famous final blow, but Molitor was named Series MVP because of his outstanding overall offensive production. Molitor had joined the Blue Jays before the 1993 season after starring for the Milwaukee Brewers.
