Who was the MVP of the 1992 World Series between Atlanta and Toronto?

The story behind the answer

Pat Borders was the MVP of the 1992 World Series between the Toronto Blue Jays and Atlanta Braves.

Borders, Toronto’s catcher, hit .450 in the six-game series, with nine hits, one home run, three runs batted in and three runs scored. His steady defense and work handling the pitching staff were also important in Toronto’s first championship.

The Blue Jays won the series four games to two. Toronto captured the deciding Game 6 in Atlanta, 4–3, when Dave Winfield’s two-run double in the 11th inning broke the tie. Borders became the sixth catcher to win World Series MVP honors and the first since Rick Dempsey in 1983.

A common mix-up is confusing Borders with Roberto Alomar or Dave Winfield, both major contributors to the championship club. Borders was the award winner, while Alomar won the 1992 American League Championship Series MVP.
