Who voices Lin Beifong?

Mindy Sterling voices Lin Beifong in The Legend of Korra.

Lin is the chief of police of Republic City and commands its metalbending police force. She is the daughter of Toph Beifong, the original series’ legendary earthbending master, and the older maternal half-sister of Suyin Beifong. Her authority, stubbornness, and fierce loyalty make her one of Korra’s most important allies.

Sterling’s role in Korra is one of her prominent voice-acting credits, alongside work such as Miss Endive in Chowder and Frau Farbissina in the Austin Powers films. Lin’s rough-edged determination contrasts with Sterling’s other comedic and animated performances, making the casting easy to overlook.

A frequent source of confusion is Lin’s younger self: Grey DeLisle voices young Lin in flashbacks, while Mindy Sterling voices Lin as an adult throughout the main story. Cree Summer and Tara Strong are also major animation voice actors, but they do not provide Lin’s adult voice. Lin’s age ranges from 50 in Book One to 54 in Book Four.
