Who voiced the character Rapunzel in the Disney film Tangled?
Answer
Mandy Moore
Answer
Mandy Moore
Mandy Moore voiced Rapunzel in Disney's Tangled.
Moore plays the film's adult Rapunzel, a princess with extraordinarily long magical hair who has been hidden in a tower by Mother Gothel. Her performance combines spoken dialogue with singing, including the Oscar-nominated song “I See the Light,” performed with Zachary Levi as Flynn Rider.
Disney announced Moore's casting on September 10, 2009. The film was released in 2010 and became a modern computer-animated adaptation of the Brothers Grimm tale “Rapunzel.” Delaney Rose Stein voiced the younger version of the character, so Moore is specifically associated with teenage and adult Rapunzel.
Viewers sometimes confuse the voice cast because Tangled features several prominent performers: Levi voices Flynn Rider, Donna Murphy voices Mother Gothel, and Alan Menken wrote the music. Moore and Levi recorded much of their dialogue separately, but recorded their major songs with a 65-piece orchestra.
