Who voiced Grumpy?

Who voiced Grumpy? Pinto Colvig voiced Grumpy in Disney’s 1937 animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Colvig gave Grumpy his gravelly, irritable personality, making him the most openly resistant to Snow White when she first arrives at the dwarfs’ cottage. His rough voice contrasts with the gentler or more comic sounds of the other dwarfs.

Colvig also voiced Sleepy, so he performed two of the seven dwarf roles rather than only one. He was a major Disney voice performer who later became especially famous as the original voice of Goofy and as Pluto’s vocal performer.

A common mix-up is Scotty Mattraw, who voiced Bashful, or Billy Gilbert, who voiced Sneezy. Eddie Collins voiced Dopey, while Roy Atwell voiced Doc. Grumpy’s distinctive anger belongs specifically to Colvig.
