Who voiced Ash Ketchum in the first eight seasons of the English Pokémon anime?

Veronica Taylor voiced Ash Ketchum in the first eight seasons of the English Pokémon anime.

Taylor also voiced Ash’s mother, Delia Ketchum, and provided additional voices in the English adaptation. Her performance covered the early years of the franchise’s international television success, beginning with the original English dub and continuing through the eighth season.

The role later passed to Sarah Natochenny, who began voicing Ash in the ninth season in 2006. That transition is a common source of confusion, especially because both actresses are strongly associated with Ash in different eras of the long-running series.

Taylor also voiced Ash in several early Pokémon films, including Pokémon: The First Movie and Pokémon: The Movie 2000. Her work helped establish the English-language version of Ash’s personality, catchphrases, and journey for audiences outside Japan.
