Who signed the Instrument of Surrender first for the Allied powers aboard USS Missouri?

The story behind the answer

Douglas MacArthur signed the Instrument of Surrender first for the Allied powers aboard USS Missouri.

MacArthur signed at 9:08 a.m. in his role as Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers. He also represented the Allied nations collectively, making his signature the first Allied signature on the document.

Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz signed afterward as the representative of the United States. Representatives of China, the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, Australia, Canada, France, the Netherlands, and New Zealand then signed in sequence.

MacArthur delivered brief concluding remarks after the signatures. The ceremony was deliberately planned to show that the surrender involved the combined Allied powers rather than the United States alone.
