Who shot the PGA Tour's first 58 at the 2016 Travelers Championship?

The story behind the answer

Jim Furyk shot the PGA Tour’s first 58 at the 2016 Travelers Championship. He achieved the historic score in the final round at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut, finishing 12 under par for the day.

Furyk’s card included 10 birdies and an eagle on the par-4 third hole. He also hit all 14 fairways and all 18 greens in regulation, an unusually complete ball-striking performance even by professional standards. The round lowered the previous PGA Tour record of 59.

The achievement was especially notable because Furyk had already joined the Tour’s 59 club after shooting 59 at the 2013 BMW Championship. That made him the first PGA Tour player to break 60 twice. The score of 58 was a PGA Tour record at the time, although later players on other tours also recorded 58s.
