Who serves as an executive producer on Elle after originally playing Elle Woods in the films?

Reese Witherspoon serves as an executive producer on *Elle* after originally playing Elle Woods in the films.

Witherspoon portrayed Elle Woods in *Legally Blonde* (2001) and its 2003 sequel, *Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde*. Her performance made Elle one of the best-known characters in modern romantic comedy, and she remains closely associated with the franchise.

*Elle* is a prequel series about Elle Woods during her high-school years, before the events of the films. Newcomer Lexi Minetree plays the younger Elle, while Witherspoon is involved behind the scenes as an executive producer alongside figures including Laura Kittrell, Caroline Dries and Marc Platt.

A common mix-up is assuming Witherspoon will reprise the starring role. The series instead centers on a younger version of the character, making Witherspoon’s producing role the key connection to the original films.
