Maddie secretly records the finalists’ bus performance in Camp Rock 3.
During the final competition challenge, the finalists must remain inside a camp bus for 24 hours. As they bond by nightfall, they perform an improvised song together. Maddie secretly records that performance and leaks it online in an attempt to ruin the competition.
Maddie is already connected to the contest because she arrives at camp with backup dancers and initially passes the first challenge. She is eliminated during the dance-focused second challenge after Sage’s distraction causes Lark to bump into her. Her later decision to record the bus performance turns her disappointment into a direct conflict with the finalists.
The leak creates a disciplinary crisis because campers are not supposed to have phones during the competition. The finalists are threatened with disqualification until Maddie is identified as the person behind the recording.
