Thierno Barry scored Everton’s second goal in their 2–0 victory over Crystal Palace on the 2026–27 opening weekend.
Everton defeated Crystal Palace 2–0 at Hill Dickinson Stadium on 22 August 2026. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored before half-time, and Thierno Barry added the second goal after the interval.
The result gave Everton their first opening Premier League victory in five years. It also ended a run of eight top-flight matches without a win, providing an immediate boost at the start of the season.
The match was Palace manager Pierre Sage’s first Premier League game in charge. Palace also suffered an injury setback when defender Chadi Riad was carried off on a stretcher, while Everton midfielder Harrison Armstrong was praised for his performance.
