Who ranked first on Forbes’ 2020 Celebrity 100 list?

Kylie Jenner ranked first on Forbes’ 2020 Celebrity 100 list.

Forbes estimated Jenner’s earnings at $590 million for the year covered by the ranking, making her the highest-paid celebrity on that edition. The unusually large figure was driven mainly by the sale of a majority stake in her cosmetics company, Kylie Cosmetics, to Coty in 2020.

This list is an earnings ranking rather than a net-worth ranking. Forbes counts money earned during the relevant period, including business transactions, salaries, royalties, endorsements and other income. A celebrity can therefore top the list because of a major one-time deal.

Kanye West ranked second, followed by sports and entertainment figures including Roger Federer, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Jenner’s position also attracted attention because Forbes later disputed parts of the financial information supplied about her business.
