Ikue Ōtani provides Pikachu’s Japanese voice in the Pokémon anime.

Ōtani has voiced Pikachu since the character’s animated debut, and Pikachu’s distinctive spoken name became one of the most recognizable sounds in the franchise. Unlike many Pokémon, Pikachu generally communicates using variations of its own name rather than ordinary human dialogue.

The same Japanese performance is associated with Pikachu across the television series and Pokémon films. International dubs use different voice performers, so the Japanese credit can be confused with English-language actors who voiced Pikachu in specific releases.
