Who provided the speaking voice for Aladdin in the 1992 film?

The story behind the answer

Who provided the speaking voice for Aladdin in the 1992 film? Scott Weinger provided Aladdin’s speaking voice.

Weinger voiced the dialogue for the title character in Disney’s 1992 animated film. Aladdin is an impoverished street urchin from Agrabah who disguises himself as a prince after discovering the magic lamp and falling in love with Princess Jasmine.

The film used different performers for Aladdin’s dialogue and singing. Brad Kane supplied Aladdin’s singing voice, including the songs “One Jump Ahead” and “A Whole New World,” while Weinger handled the spoken performance. That division is the main reason the answer is sometimes misidentified.

Robin Williams voiced the Genie, and Jonathan Freeman voiced Jafar, so neither is the speaking voice of Aladdin. Weinger later returned to the character in Disney’s Aladdin television series and other franchise projects, helping make his performance the standard animated-film voice of Aladdin.
