Evan Davis presented the UK television programme Dragons' Den for most of its early series.
Davis is a British journalist, broadcaster and economist. He became the programme's presenter when the BBC launched the British series in 2005. His role was different from that of the Dragons: he introduced the pitches, guided viewers through the negotiations and provided continuity between sections of each episode.
The presenter is sometimes confused with the investors themselves because the programme's publicity focuses heavily on the Dragon panel. Davis did not sit as one of the principal Dragons; he acted as the host and narrator of the business pitches.
Davis later became widely known for presenting BBC current-affairs and news programmes, including Newsnight and PM on BBC Radio 4. His association with Dragons' Den belongs especially to the show's formative years.
