Who played Josie Packard in the television series Twin Peaks?

Joan Chen played Josie Packard in the television series Twin Peaks.

Josie is a businesswoman connected to the Packard sawmill and to several of Twin Peaks’ central power struggles. Her character arrives with an international background and a complicated relationship with Pete Martell, Catherine Martell, and Sheriff Harry S. Truman.

Chen was already an established actor and filmmaker before appearing in the series. Her performance helped make Josie one of the show’s more mysterious figures, especially as the character’s business dealings and hidden loyalties came under investigation.

Joan Chen also directed the 1998 film Xiu Xiu: The Sent-Down Girl. In Twin Peaks, Josie’s storyline is tied to the supernatural mythology as well as the town’s ordinary criminal conspiracies, making her more than a conventional supporting character.
