Who performs Taylor Swift’s song “august”?

Taylor Swift performs “august.”

The song is a solo recording released under Swift’s name on Folklore. Swift wrote the lyrics, sings the lead vocal, and helped produce the track with Jack Antonoff and Joe Alwyn.

Although several collaborators are closely associated with the recording, none is a featured vocalist. Antonoff co-wrote and co-produced the song, while Alwyn received a production credit. Aaron Dessner was a major Folklore collaborator and joined Swift for the 2021 Grammy performance, but he is not the singer of the studio track.

The song later became especially notable for its annual August revival. That recurring interest is driven by the title, the late-summer setting in the lyrics, and fan listening habits. It is therefore often discussed both as a Swift solo song and as a seasonal cultural ritual.
