Who is the youngest solo artist to win Album of the Year?

The story behind the answer

Billie Eilish is the youngest solo artist to win Album of the Year at the Grammys.

She won at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards in 2020 for her debut studio album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? Eilish was 18 years old, and the victory made her the youngest individual artist to receive the award. Her brother FINNEAS was also central to the album as its co-writer and producer, but Eilish is the credited performing artist and winner in the quiz’s sense.

Before Eilish’s win, Taylor Swift held the youngest-winner record after taking Album of the Year at age 20 for Fearless in 2010. Alanis Morissette had previously won at 21 for Jagged Little Pill. Eilish’s 2020 night was especially historic because she also won Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist—the four General Field awards.
