Who is the son of Ravana known for his prowess in war?

The story behind the answer

Ravana’s son known for his prowess in war was Indrajit, also called Meghanada. He was the eldest son of Ravana and a formidable champion of Lanka in the Ramayana.

The name Indrajit means “conqueror of Indra.” According to the epic tradition, Meghanada defeated and captured Indra, king of the devas, and received the epithet after that victory. He became famed not only for archery but also for celestial weapons and illusion-based warfare.

During the war between Rama and Ravana, Indrajit repeatedly challenged Rama’s forces. His ability to fight while concealed or invisible made him especially dangerous. He used powerful divine weapons against Rama and Lakshmana, but Lakshmana eventually confronted and killed him.

Indrajit is often confused with other sons or relatives of Ravana, including Atikaya and Devantaka. Kumbhakarna, another major warrior on Lanka’s side, was Ravana’s brother rather than his son.
