Who is the main villain, Grimmel the Grisly, in How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World?

Grimmel the Grisly is the main villain of How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.

Grimmel is an experienced dragon hunter who claims responsibility for killing the other Night Furies. He targets Toothless after learning that a Night Fury still exists, making him a direct threat to Hiccup, Toothless, and the dragon sanctuary established by the people of Berk.

The character is distinct from Drago Bludvist, the principal antagonist of How to Train Your Dragon 2. Drago relies on a powerful Bewilderbeast and commands an army, while Grimmel operates as a calculating hunter using traps, poisons, and trained dragons.

Grimmel’s pursuit helps drive the third film’s central conflict: whether dragons can remain safely alongside humans or must disappear into a hidden world.
