Who is the main protagonist of Assassin's Creed Mirage?

Basim Ibn Ishaq is the main protagonist of Assassin's Creed Mirage.

Mirage, released in 2023, tells Basim's origin story before his appearance as a major character in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The game follows his transformation from a street thief in ninth-century Baghdad into a Hidden One.

Basim is guided by Roshan, an experienced Hidden One who becomes his mentor. The narrative visits Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age and emphasizes investigation, parkour, social stealth, and targeted assassinations in a more compact structure than several recent open-world entries.

Players may confuse Basim with Altaïr or Bayek because all three are prominent Assassins from different historical periods. Basim is specifically associated with Mirage and Valhalla, while Altaïr belongs to the Third Crusade era and Bayek is the central character of Origins.
