Who is the main playable protagonist in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood?

Ezio Auditore is the main playable protagonist in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.

Brotherhood continues Ezio's story after Assassin's Creed II. Following the events in Italy, Ezio travels to Rome, where the Borgia family controls the city and suppresses opposition. He works to rebuild the Assassin Brotherhood, recruit new members, and weaken Borgia influence across Rome.

Ezio is the central character in a trilogy of main games: Assassin's Creed II, Brotherhood, and Revelations. Brotherhood develops his role from an individual avenger into a leader responsible for training and coordinating other Assassins. Its recruitment system lets players enlist allies and send them on missions, reflecting the game's emphasis on rebuilding the organization.

The title is sometimes mistaken for a multiplayer-focused entry because of its name, but its principal campaign is a single-player continuation of Ezio's narrative. The game also includes a modern-day storyline involving Desmond Miles and the Animus, though Ezio remains the historical protagonist.
