Who is the last king of Narnia?

The story behind the answer

The last king of Narnia is King Tirian. He is the central Narnian ruler in C. S. Lewis’s The Last Battle, the final novel in The Chronicles of Narnia.

Tirian is descended from King Caspian X and is the son of King Erlian. He inherits a kingdom facing invasion and internal deception: the ape Shift uses a donkey disguised as Aslan to manipulate the Narnians and cooperate with the Calormenes.

With his companion, Jewel the Unicorn, Tirian tries to defend Narnia and expose the fraud. Although his forces are defeated, he remains loyal through the destruction of the old Narnian world. In Aslan’s Country, he is reunited with the Friends of Narnia and learns that the true story continues beyond the world that has ended.

Peter, Edmund, and Caspian are all important Narnian kings, but they rule earlier in the chronology. Tirian is specifically identified as the last king because he reigns at the end of Narnia’s history.
