Cristiano Ronaldo was the first male player to score at five FIFA World Cups. He reached that milestone at the 2022 tournament in Qatar when he converted a penalty against Ghana.

Ronaldo had already scored at the 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 World Cups. His goal against Ghana in Portugal’s opening match made him the first man to score in five separate editions. Portugal won the match 3–2, with Ronaldo’s penalty opening the scoring.
