Who is the civilian administrator of the 99th precinct?

The story behind the answer

Gina Linetti is the civilian administrator of the 99th Precinct in Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Played by Chelsea Peretti, Gina handles administrative work at the precinct while surrounded by detectives and police supervisors. Her position makes her an outsider to the law-enforcement staff, and the show regularly uses that perspective for comedy. She is famously attached to her phone, social media and her own exaggerated sense of importance.

Gina is also Captain Holt's assistant and Jake Peralta's childhood friend. Jake helped her get the job at the precinct, which explains why she has a particularly unusual level of confidence around him. Although she often appears uninterested in police work, she occasionally provides sharp observations that help the squad.

Amy Santiago and Rosa Diaz are detectives, while Sharon Jeffords is Terry Jeffords's wife, so neither fits the job description. Gina eventually leaves the precinct to build an online brand, but returns for important appearances, including the series finale.
