Who is the CEO of The Walt Disney Company as of 2025?

The story behind the answer

Bob Iger was CEO of The Walt Disney Company as of 2025.

Iger first became Disney’s chief executive in 2005, succeeding Michael Eisner. During that first tenure, Disney acquired Pixar, Marvel Entertainment, Lucasfilm and much of 21st Century Fox, significantly expanding its film franchises and entertainment businesses.

He retired as CEO in 2020, when Bob Chapek succeeded him, but Disney’s board brought Iger back in November 2022 after Chapek’s departure. Thus, a question specifically asking for Disney’s CEO “as of 2025” correctly identifies Iger, even though the company’s leadership later entered another succession phase.

Walt Disney was the company’s co-founder and creative pioneer, not its CEO in 2025. Michael Eisner was an earlier CEO, while Chapek held the job between Iger’s two terms. Disney announced Josh D’Amaro as Iger’s successor, with the transition scheduled for 2026.
