Who is the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX?

Who is the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX? The answer is Elon Musk.

Musk founded SpaceX in 2002 and serves as its founder and chief executive, overseeing a company known for Falcon rockets, Dragon spacecraft, and reusable launch systems. SpaceX’s achievements helped make commercial orbital launches and booster recovery central features of modern spaceflight.

His connection with Tesla began in 2004, when he led the company’s Series A investment and became chairman. He became Tesla’s CEO and product architect in 2008. Tesla later became a major electric-vehicle and energy-storage company, producing vehicles such as the Roadster, Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and Cybertruck.

A common misconception is that Musk created Tesla from scratch. Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning incorporated Tesla in 2003, while Musk joined as an early investor and later received co-founder status through a legal settlement. Richard Branson leads Virgin Galactic, not either of these companies, and Jeff Bezos founded the competing space company Blue Origin.
