Amber Volakis is killed in the season 4 finale of House M.D.

Amber dies in the two-part finale “House’s Head” and “Wilson’s Heart.” She is seriously injured in a bus accident while accompanying House, and the medical team later discovers that she has taken amantadine, which becomes toxic after her kidneys fail.

The storyline is especially important because Amber is Wilson’s romantic partner and because House struggles to reconstruct the events leading to the crash. Her death changes Wilson’s relationship with House and has lasting consequences for both characters in the following season.

Anne Dudek played Amber, who had been introduced as one of the applicants competing for positions on House’s team. She is sometimes confused with Cameron, another former team member, but Cameron survives the series and is played by Jennifer Morrison.
