Who has voiced Pikachu for most Pokémon appearances?

Ikue Ōtani has voiced Pikachu for most Pokémon appearances.

Ōtani has performed Pikachu since the character was introduced in the Pokémon anime. Unlike many characters in dubbed animation, Pikachu’s voice was generally kept consistent across languages because the Pokémon mostly says its own name.

In the anime, Pikachu communicates through variations of “Pika” and “Pikachu” rather than ordinary human dialogue. Ōtani has also voiced the character in the main series games and in every Super Smash Bros. installment featuring Pikachu.

The role is sometimes confused with Ash’s voice actor because Pikachu is Ash’s partner and the two are closely associated. Other performers have occasionally portrayed Pikachu for specific projects or lines, but Ōtani remains the character’s principal and most enduring voice performer.
